Getting that frame powder coated and FINALLY completed was huge. This time I knew exactly how to put the engine back on, took even more precautions, and got it installed without even the smallest scratch to the frame. Now things are moving along!
Once I got the frame back and most all the parts delivered, repaired and shined up, I thought it would be fun/interesting to lay them all out in their approximate, respective locations. I'd say about 90% of the parts are in these pics.
I was too embarrassed to admit it on my last post...I really messed up the frame putting the engine back on. You can't see it in the pictures below, but it was bad. Despite several coats of tape, rags and foam, the frame took some major hits while I was trying to finagle the engine back into place. I tried to repair the damaged areas, but it kept getting worse. I then decided I'd try to start all over again - strip, sand, prime, paint and clear coat. I went too fast and messed it up even worse. I was seeing the completion date slipping back into 2016 or beyond. My lovely wife gently suggested I look into getting someone to do it professionally (i.e. time to admit defeat honey), stating it would be her Christmas gift to me. After several days of wrestling with the idea in my mind, I agreed with her. I wound up getting it powder coated, and I could not be happier with the results. Here are a few pics progressing from ugliness (my bad) to work of art. Thank you honey!!
