Credits & Resources - the following people/organizations were invaluable in bringing this project to completion:
Disclaimer: The following list is for informational purposes only and as a convenience/reference to the reader. I am in no way endorsing or receiving any type of compensation for referencing them below. I have had good experiences with all of the following. Your mileage may vary.
- Marbles Motors (Randy Marble), St. Paul, TX: paint service, OEM and after market parts, engine service, advice, etc.(www.marblesmotors.com). The paint service is outstanding, matching original color and design exceptionally well. Randy has tons of experience with Honda trail bikes.
- Tim Lavoi, MN: excellent engine rebuild service, helpful guidance and all around good guy (now retired). Thanks for all your help, Tim!
- Final Touch Powder Coating (Roger Blanchard), Spring Lake, NC: exceptional powder coating of frame and misc. parts. Top notch. (www.finaltouchpowdercoating.com)
- Bob's General Service, Baxter, IA: vintage motorcycle seat repair and restoration (www.bgsmc.com). Like new.
- Northeast Vintage Cycle, Springville, NY: wide variety of OEM and aftermarket parts, kits, and tools. Excellent customer service and helpful advice (http://cart.hondanuts.com/Default.aspx). I really like these guys.
- Brown's Plating Service, Inc. Paducah, KY: reasonably priced re-chrome service (unfortunately, they just retired and closed their shop).
- The Chrome Shop, Rock Island, IL: another reasonably priced re-chrome service (www.thechromeshop.com). Re-chroming is not cheap and is becoming more difficult to find due to the high costs of chemical re-plating. Use sparingly.
- Dead on handlebar replacement for the SL70: JL Motosport, Jim Lucik, [email protected] (used to be on eBay as kicul965, not sure if still there).
- Various other web resources: youtube, eBay, tboltusa.com, hondatrailbikes.com, bikebandit.com, local shops, others. Thanks to all!
